Hi, I'm Joe Gill, Financial Coach and founder of MoJoe

"I’m quitting my job, travelling the world, and starting my own business!”...
Those were the words I kept whispering to myself—until one day, I found the courage to make it happen.
On paper, everything in my life looked great: a solid job, a nice home, a company car and regular holidays. Whilst I enjoyed my job, worked for a great company and was very grateful for these things, deep down something felt off. I’d gone from living in a maxed-out overdraft to getting caught up in climbing the corporate ladder, chasing promotions and believing success was all about salary and status. I felt disconnected and questioned a path that no longer felt like mine - I’d built up some savings, and whilst there was a long list of ‘expected things’ I should do with this, none of them felt right for me. I knew I needed to make a change, but having the confidence in my finances and the courage to break free from traditional expectations, was a challenge I needed to overcome.
For the last 14 years, I have worked in finance for one of the largest banks in the UK, supporting thousands of clients across the full spectrum of their finances, from initially counting bags of pennies at the counter to helping high-net-worth individuals manage their finances and plan for the future. I am a Qualified Financial Advisor and Mortgage Advisor, with a Diploma in Coaching and a Qualified Member of the Personal Finance Society.
Spending years helping very high-net-worth individuals with their finances, I saw first-hand that even those with significant wealth had a lack of financial knowledge, lots of uncertainty and questions, and also a range of complex relationships with money. I realised how many people could benefit from meaningful, personal financial guidance, but simply don’t have access to it.
It made me realise that money and your personal finances are something you’re expected to be good with, to understand and manage well, yet there has been a lack of education on it and very few options of where you can go to have open, unbiased conversations about it, with a financial professional.
There is no one-size-fits-all way to manage your finances or create a financial plan — your circumstances, values, and experiences are different, and so too is what you want. I combine financial expertise with coaching, to help you to explore your personal finances and give you the confidence to manage your own money, in a way that matters most to you.
So, back to my personal story – “I've done it…I’ve quit my job!” – people said I was crazy – but I knew I wanted to fulfil my dream. So, with a determined mindset, backed by a confidence in my financial plan, I’ve taken action and I quit my employed job. I travelled the world. And now I have my own business helping others realise their financial goals. I have my Mojo back, and that is where MoJoe began!
