FAQs

Is this financial advice? No. This isn’t about recommending products or telling you what to do. It’s about helping you understand your options, so you can make confident decisions that are right for you.

How is it different from financial advice? Financial advice focuses on products and regulated recommendations, which often involves the adviser looking after your money on your behalf. Financial coaching focuses on you—your goals, your decisions, and how you can manage your own money day to day.

Is financial coaching FCA regulated? No - because it doesn’t involve giving regulated financial advice. That means the focus stays on education, guidance, and empowering you to make your own decisions.

Is it really worth paying for financial coaching? There’s no shortage of free information. The difference is having personalised guidance, structure, and accountability - so you can actually take action.

Can't I just find information to manage my personal finances online? You can, but a lack of information isn’t the problem. Knowing what applies to you, and actually doing something with it, is where most people get stuck. This is what financial coaching is here to help with.

Do I have enough money for this to be useful? This isn’t about how much money you have - it’s about how you manage it. Building good habits at any point in your life often makes a big impact. There is no set criteria on your level of income or savings to have access to my services.

I’m confident with my finances, why would I need this? That’s a great place to be. This isn’t about starting from scratch, it’s about building on what you already do well. Even when you feel confident, there are often gaps, blind spots, or decisions that haven’t been fully explored. This gives you the space to step back, sense-check your approach, and make sure everything is working as effectively as it could be. It’s not about fixing something that’s broken, it’s about making good decisions even stronger, and giving you greater clarity, structure, and direction for what comes next.

What if I feel judged, uncomfortable or overwhelmed? Talking about money can feel difficult and overwhelming, thats normal. This is a supportive, judgement-free space where you can be open and honest. We break things down into manageable steps, so you can move forward without feeling overloaded.

What can we talk about? Your finances are so interwoven with your life, meaning there are so many areas we can cover during our sessions, and these are different for everyone. To help give you some ideas, here are some of the areas in people’s lives that often lead to financial decisions needing to be made: - Family — marriage, starting a family, planning for your children’s future, navigating divorce, or managing an inheritance. - Career — from university and new roles to promotions, career changes, bonuses, redundancy, or starting your own business. - Home — buying or selling your home, or thinking about a second property. - Lifestyle — funding the travel, hobbies, and experiences that matter most to you. - Relationships & habits — improving your relationship with money and creating healthy habits. - Long-term planning — building savings for the future, retirement, or achieving financial freedom.

How many sessions are needed? For financial coaching there’s no fixed number of sessions you need to have. Your coaching journey is shaped around you, so we’ll go at a pace that’s right for you. This can be agreed either at the outset, or at the end of each of your sessions. For a Financial Healthcheck, this is a one-off session.

What happens with the information we discuss? Discussing your finances requires trust, integrity, and confidentiality. These values are at the heart of everything I do. Your personal data is kept safe and secure, never shared or sold, and always managed in full compliance with UK data protection laws. If you ever have questions about this, you’re encouraged to contact me directly.

Question? Ask me anything.

Talking about money isn’t always easy, so if you’re not quite ready to book a call, that’s completely okay. If you have any questions about how I can help, please get in touch.
